Tongabezi Lodge is a romantic hideaway on the banks of the Zambezi River just upstream of Victoria Falls. We offer a selection of houses and cottages, each beautifully furnished using local materials. Guests can dine beside the river or on their private terrace. We offer thrilling boat trips to Livingstone Island, where David Livingstone caught his first glimpse of the mighty falls. Guests can also stay on our private island, Sindabezi, an exclusive camp on the Zambezi.

Victoria Falls weddings at Tongabezi
Victoria Falls is one of the world’s most spectacular locations to celebrate your wedding. We can arrange for you to get married at the edge of the falls, with all the details of your special day tailor-made to your exact requirements.
Your wedding day begins with a registry ceremony at Livingstone City offices, followed by a blessing from a local pastor. This can take place on Livingstone Island directly overlooking Victoria Falls, accompanied by the Tongabezi African Choir.
Alternatively, you may prefer to celebrate on Sindabezi, our private island, which boasts magnificent views overlooking other islands and the nearby flood plain of the Zambezi National Park. You can also choose to receive a blessing on one of the deserted islands near Tongabezi.
We can cater for small or large groups and can arrange suitable accommodation for all of your guests in the local area. Expert staff at Tongabezi will take care of all the arrangements including the legal wedding at the registry office, the priest for the blessing, the order of service (if required), plus flowers, menus, cakes, guest gifts, the choir and other local entertainment such as a DJ or local dancers.

The lodge was built with romance in mind. Each of our four houses is beautifully designed to create a feeling of privacy and intimacy, with views across the water and secluded terraces where guests can dine alone beneath the stars. Alternatively, enjoy a candlelit dinner on a floating sanpan on the river – your food is served to you by canoe.
Our friendly attentive staff will ensure you enjoy a perfect honeymoon. Indeed, each of our houses is allocated a personal valet. You can also choose to split your stay between Tongabezi and our sister property, Sindabezi, an exclusive camp on our own private island.
