Heritage Ballroom
Plan an elegant event in the largest pillar-free hotel ballroom in Sydney, our own Grand Ballroom. It can accommodate 1,000 guests for a banquet style dinner or 1,200 theatre-style and can be divided into four sections. Make a spectacular entrance by coming down the longest escalator in any hotel in the southern hemisphere, surrounded by cascading water on black granite. At the bottom of the escalator, a pre-function area provides the entrance to one of the most sophisticated sound, lighting, and video systems available.
Steeped in tradition, our Heritage Ballroom was once the site of the first public telephone exchange in Australia, installed in the GPO in 1882. This spectacular Victorian room is capable of entertaining up to 260 people for a banquet dinner or 300 people theatre-style.
Bondi Beach
For the smaller meeting or breakout groups, our Heritage Conference Centre is the perfect choice. All eight specialised meeting rooms feature natural light and built-in whiteboards and storage. The Heritage Executive Boardroom along with five of the six specialised meeting rooms include the same built-in audiovisual capabilities of the ballrooms including MATV, telephone and ISDN lines, and computer LAN outlets.
Presidential Suite
Australia's largest event staging company, Staging Connections, manages our function room technology. Their involvement in the design process has helped create the very best communication systems and most stunning special effects available in Australia. Features include 104 Roboscan moving lights, AMX lighting system, ISDN lines, ASDL High Speed Internet Access, and video conferencing facilities. Four high-impact Barco projectors and four metre-motorised screens have been installed. A theatre quality Meyer audio system has also been installed, giving ultimate impact to video soundtracks and live entertainment. Unique to our facilities, permanent outside broadcasting facilities, including cable pathways, have been installed to the ballrooms and conference rooms.
