How many rooms / beds does your hotel have?
85 individual, Polynesian style, thatched bungalows.

Which room(s) would you recommend for the wedding night or honeymoon and what is special
about it?
I would recommend our ISLAND Luxury Overwater Bungalow. To live the unique experience of being in a bungalow over the water with a glass floor viewing panel, watching fish swim below you is fascinating ! This bungalow also has incredible, stunnnig 360° views of the Bora Bora lagoon, the famous outline of Mount Otemanu and also of our botanical, tropical private island. A harmonious blend of authentic woods, décor, Marquisian decoration with hi tech modern amenities such as BOSE audio system, Nespresso coffee machine, Wifi, plush bathrobes, Sofitel "My Bed", DVD player, flat screen TV, A/C...

When has the hotel been built?
The beachside part of the resort was built in 1984. The private island was added on in 1998.

If a couple would spend 7 nights and days during their honeymoon in your hotel -
a) which 2 - 5 touristic attractions / excursions in your surroundings would you recommend most?
2 hour jet ski tour around the island of Bora Bora on the amazing lagoon. Our eco safari tour in an authentic outrigger canoe visiting fish, sting rays, baby reef sharks, followed by a traditional Polynesian BBq on the beach with demonstration of Tahitian arts & crafts. Scuba diving to see the giant manta rays. 4x4 jeep safari visiting the interiors of the island and seeing vestiges from WWII. Parasailing and soaring 300meters high in the sky

b) which clubs / festivals / parties / discotheques would you recommend most?
Bora Bora is a very placid island. There are no discotheques nor clubs. We do have our famous Heiva dance and song festival in July. In October, is also the famous Hawaiki Nui outrigger canoe race.
All the hotels organise some type of entertainment. Sofitel Bora Bora organises every month a Full Moon party out on the deck.
We also organise a movie night with movies outdoors on the deck by the pool.
The hotel also holds every year in May the election of "Miss Bora Bora".

c) which weeks of the year usually have the lowest price because of low season?
Our low season is from 1st April to 31 May and from 1st Nov to 31 March.

Can you tell us something about the options and capacities to have a wedding reception
(and maybe the wedding dancing party as well) in your hotel and / or in another venue without
hotel beds in your surroundings?
We can send you a Wedding document with sample photo album of a traditional, Polynesian wedding ceremony which takes place on top of our Motu (private island).

Is it possible to have a legal and / or ceremonial wedding at your property (or at a special place in your surroundings)?
Legal weddings are possible now in French Polynesia. You must respect French law. So first you wed legally in a small civil ceremony held at the Town Hall. This is then followed by either the traditional white wedding ceremony or by one of our Polynesian, local ceremonies. Our wedding ceremonies take place on top of our private island with 360° views of the enchanting Bora Bora lagoon and Mount Otemanu. The ceremony always takes place at sunset and ends with the traditional dancing and singing by the locals.

Can you tell us about prominent people who spent their honeymoon or had their weddingand / or wedding reception at your hotel?
Every client who marries at Sofitel Bora bora is a VIP, prominent person for us !

What else is special about your property?
A unique dual experience to share the beachside of the resort with an exotic private island only 5mn away by complimentary boat transfer.
