Hotel Byron Forte dei Marmi
Inaugurated in June 1990, after extensive renovations, this hotel unites two Liberty villas, the largest and oldest of which was built for the Canevaro family, Dukes of Zoagli, from 1899 to 1902. A meeting place for nobility from the House of Savoia, the villas were subsequently converted into hotels while maintaining their original features. Located on a boulevard to the sea, the hotel is a short walk from La Capannina and across from a few of the most exclusive beaches of the prestigious Forte dei Marmi.
Today, the villas are an elegant hotel with 29 rooms and suites overlooking the sea or the Apuan Alps, as well as two halls for meetings and conferences that seat 10 and 60 people. Tennis courts and the vast Versiliana park are both a stone's throw away, as are facilities for horseback riding, and the 18-hole Versilia Golf Course is just 4km away. The décor reflects the care and dedication of the hotel's owners, with vast open spaces and a sequence of diverse settings, all decorated in the Liberty style, with yellow and green windowpanes, floral light fixtures, and two bay windows with bright, half-circle, yellow sofas that lend a touch of freshness. The bar overlooks the garden where a large swimming pool attracts guests who don't feel like going to the beach. Flowers and other plants are in abundance. Within the greenery of the area, guests find that calm atmosphere which is typical of large private residences, but with all the comforts of a 5-star hotel.
The hotel's restaurant, La Magnolia, completes the package with an impeccable cuisine served in equally impeccable style. The best of local and international dishes accompanied by a vast selection of the leading white and red wines, both Italian and French, rosés, exquisite dessert wines, and champagne and other sparkling wines of the highest level. During the summer months, the restaurant provides poolside service, in addition to its three indoor dining halls.
