In which year did you start your wedding planning business and which reasons made you start working in this job?
I started in 2000, so now I am planning weddings for more than 10 years. When I started this “job” even did not exist, neither the word wedding planner. But coming from international marketing experience and planning my own wedding first, this made a good starting point for Creative Wedding. Beeing german, I am organizing only weddings in Italy, for all couples coming from abroad.

Do you work alone or in a team?
Creative Wedding is owned by me only. But for almost all weddings we work in a team of 2-3 german girls.

In which languages can you take care of your customers?
German, English and Italian.

What are the main regions where you are planning weddings?
Mainly the weddings are in the northern part of Italy like Lake Como, Lago Maggiore, Lake Garda, Venice. But as well Tuscany, Rome, Puglia and Sicily. Important is to have German or English speaking partners there

What are your personal favourites regarding:
- a location for a destination wedding in your home region?
Villa Regina Teodolinda on Lake Como, a fantastic combination of historic villa combined with modern interior design, settled directly on the lake
- a location for a destination wedding in the rest of the world?
Puglia is becoming trendy. On the same time this region still offers the real Italian welcoming and tradition in their people
- a country / region / hotel for a honeymoon?
Villa Margherita at Lake Maggiore has one of the best services, breakfast until noon, the owners are super warm and endulging, no one leaves this place without the promise to come back soon

Have you organised weddings for prominent people?
Yes, for some very important family in the automobile industry for example. But they asked me to have no public voices on their wedding.

Have you organised weddings for couples from outside your country?
Sure, all my couples are coming from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Belgium and sometimes even Canada and USA.

Which strengths of your company would you like to mention?
Being in Italy the partner for all details around a wedding. Having good contacts to service partners in Italy, but always understand the demands of clients from abroad what to expect in Italy. I can always explain Italian traditions with the eye of a stranger. On top, even after 10 years of planning experience, all weddings are planned very individually. The desires of bride and groom are so different from each other, that no packages will ever suit. My big secret is that I enjoy the planning of each wedding, clients feel this joy and then bride and me are becoming friends over the planning period

Could you tell us a little story about something special that you have experienced during your work as a wedding planner?
Last year there was a bride with a second wedding for her. She was being prepared all morning long with dressing, make-up, hair etc. When she came down the stairs to meet her guests and especially her husband, she really had weak knees, we had to get support form the hotel director with some drops to strengthen her.
Or another groom this year was over 60, as well his marriage was the second one. The bride had prepared some text to read out loud when they were married by the vice-major. When he had to read his part, there were tears running down his face and his voice was broken. You can imagine that I had to weep as well, standing in front of him in my function as translater. So I am always prepared with some handkerchiefs with a cute wedding design on it!
